Conclusions
Quality Assessment: Very good. Great balance between the high acidity, the powerful but fine-grained tannins and the concentrated fruit; the alcohol is well integrated. Pronounced intensity and complexity, with primary fruit and florals already joined by developing leather and tobacco notes, and a long, structured finish.
Bottle Ageing: Suitable for further bottle ageing. Already approachable with decanting, but the structure and the concentration of fruit will carry it well beyond 2040.
Final Remarks
Boscareto is the highest of the Batasiolo crus, at around 420 metres in Serralunga d'Alba, on calcareous clay marl facing southwest. Aged at least two years in large Slavonian oak casks and one more year in steel, it shows the true face of Serralunga: power, backbone and longevity, but with the perfume and elegance that make Nebbiolo so special.
